We study DIS with a spin-1 hadron or a nucleus polarized in arbitrary direction. The differential cross-section in this case will have an azimuthal dependence. We analyze the DIS by including contributions from twist-2- and twist-3 QCD operators. At twist-2 we find that there is a tensor-polarized gluon distribution related to the tensor polarization of the hadron. Its evolution equation and contribution to the hadronic tensor is derived. Adding this contribution the one-loop correction of the hadronic tensor at twist-2 is completed. The twist-3 contribution is computed at tree-level. We find that all structure functions related to the tensor-polarization of the initial hadron can be extracted by study the azimuthal dependence, especially, the tensor-polarized gluon distribution.
