Following the thinking underlying the minimal Standard Model, we propose an extended Standard Model, based on the gauge group $SU_c(3) \times SU_L(2) \times U(1) \times SU_f(3)$. The extension, which is rather unique, derives from the family concept that there are three generations of quarks and of leptons. It yields neutrino oscillations in a natural manner. It also predicts a variety of lepton-flavor-violating rare decays.
