On Composite Two Higgs Doublet Models    [PDF]

We investigate composite two Higgs doublet models realized as pseudo Goldstone modes, generated through the spontaneous breaking of the global group SU(5) due to strong dynamic at the TeV scale. A detailed comparative survey of two possible symmetry breaking patterns, SU(5) -> SU(4) x U(1) and SU(5) -> SU(4), is made. We point out the deep correlation between the metric of the coset space and the origin of custodial symmetry breaking operators in this class of models. We demonstrate that at tree level custodial symmetry is protected for the coset SU(5)/SU(4). A systematic discussion of the Standard Model fermion embeddings is made with emphasis towards a simultaneous solution of anomalous Zbb coupling and Higgs mediated Flavor Changing Neutral Currents. We point out simple extension of the fermionic sector that can alleviate some phenomenological constraints for both models. We also compare these scenarios with other simple composite two Higgs doublet models.
