Dark Matter and Higgs Boson in a Model with Discrete Gauge Symmetry    [PDF]

Cheng-Wei Chiang, Takaaki Nomura, Jusak Tandean
In view of ongoing hunts for the Higgs boson at the LHC and direct searches of dark matter, we explore the possibility of accommodating the potential results in a simple new physics model with discrete gauge symmetry as well as light neutrino masses. Specifically, we study collider and relic density constraints on the new gauge coupling and predict the cross section of the dark matter scattering off nucleons, to be compared with current direct search data. We then discuss the implications for Higgs searches if the dark matter is sufficiently light.
