Towards A Unified Description of Quark and Lepton Mixing    [PDF]

Alexander N. Jourjine
We derive a common representation of mixing matrices for quarks and leptons without introduction of additional dynamics. The difference in texture between V_CKM and U_PMNS is attributed to assignment of lepto-quark pairs to different representation of a discrete Z_2 symmetry. The symmetry is not present in the SM. It appears when fermionic sector of the SM is rewritten in terms of Dirac-Kaehler spinors in the context of the Dirac-Kaehler extension of the SM (DK-SM). We explain why in DK-SM the textures of V_CKM and U_PMNS are essentially unique.
